Kaziranga National Park

“Dwell of rarest One-Horned Rhino”

Pinpoint on the banks of mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India, Assam, Kaziranga National Park covers the proximity of 430 sq kms which was declared as a wildlife sanctuary 1940. A few centuries back, the Indian one-horned Rhinocerous ranged across north India wetlands of river Indus Ganga and Brahmaputra. Kaziranga National Park was awarded the status of a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985.

One of the most sought after wildlife attraction in India, Kaziranga National Park is dotted with elephant-grass meadows, swampy lagoons, and dense forests housing the population of 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros. No wonder, the park is famous for its great population of flora and fauna species. Over the years, the tiger population has also increased in Kaziranga, for which it was declared as a Tiger reserve in 2006.

Kaziranga Park authorities organize a jeep and elephant safari tour in two-time slots which allows a glimpse of distinguishing features like grasslands, the high density of mammals & birds, land topography, and terrains. The park remains closed from the start of May till the end of October, therefore, the months of November to April is the best time to visit Kaziranga National Park.
